Founder & Director

Don Lamison

Don Lamison is the founder of Urban Green Education, an organization dedicated to making high-quality education accessible to children and schools regardless of geography or economic circumstances.

Don studied engineering and earned his MBA from the University of South Florida. His passion for education and educational equality grew from two very different experiences: teaching English literature in Florida classrooms and spending time in underserved communities in Jakarta, Indonesia.

His wife, Johana Kristamala, was born and raised in Jakarta's Mangga Dua neighborhood and also earned her MBA from the University of South Florida. Her remarkable educational, professional, and public service achievements, despite significant economic and social challenges, have been a lasting inspiration in his life and work.

Don believes that something as simple as an educational opportunity can fundamentally change the life of a child. And when a child's life changes, the possibilities extend to families, communities, cities, and ultimately the world.

At the heart of his work is a simple conviction. Childhood should be filled with possibilities, not limited by circumstances of birth. In a world where technology has made knowledge more accessible than ever, there is no reason that a child's access to a great education should depend on where they live or how much money their family has.

Rooted in her Jordanian Bedouin heritage and shaped by years living in both Jordan and the United States, Mouluke brings a deeply international perspective to her work. She believes education should do more than prepare students for examinations. It should help them discover their abilities, think independently, develop confidence, and recognize the contributions they can make to their communities and the world.

What connects us

Education should create possibility.

We believe the future of education belongs to people willing to share what they know, work together, and create opportunity for others. We partner with schools to make that belief real, one classroom and one community at a time.

Let's build something meaningful.

Tell us about your school and what you'd like to make possible for your students and teachers.
